ABC RN Drive with Karvelas - 22.01.2018

PATRICIA KARVELAS: The Minister for Human Services and a prominent Indigenous politician,
welcome to the program.

LINDA BURNEY, SHADOW MINISTER FOR HUMAN SERVICES AND MEMBER FOR BARTON: Welcome back.

KARVELAS: Thank you and to you too. We’re reunited on air. Was British settlement good for
Indigenous Australians?

BURNEY: I did listen and I have read Tony Abbott’s opinion in the papers this morning and I've also listened to what the Prime Minister has said in response. I'll say two things Patricia. I agree completely with Michelle Grattan’s analysis this morning on Radio National saying that this is a shot across the bow yet again from Tony Abbott, across the bows of the Prime Minister and basically saying ‘I'm going to be as outspoken this year as I was last year’. There are those internal machinations which I won't comment on any further within the Liberal Party.
